We have worked very hard over the past year to create an appointments system that provides good availability of advance appointments (usually between 2-6 weeks ahead) as well as good availability of more urgent appointments. This system is working very well but we are aware that on occasion you may not be able to get an appointment that suits you. Please understand that we are doing everything we can to offer the best possible service.
The GP’s are often told by patients of frustrations that they run late or that patients have waited too long for an appointment. Unfortunately this is unavoidable. To help with this, we ask that you try not to take multiple problems to a 10 minute GP appointment. Please prioritise any concerns and book additional appointments if required.
Our team of GP support staff are able to sign post based on the information you give when you request an appointment so please don’t think they are being nosey when they ask why you need to see a GP. The more information you give, the easier it is for staff to either direct you to another primary care service provider (Pharmacist, optician etc) or to manage the urgency of your appointment.
The GP’s, nurses, and staff work very hard to manage demand and do a difficult job very well. If you are in any way unhappy with the service we provide, or have any comments or suggestions, please direct them to the Practice Manager and not to GP’s or nurses during your appointment.
Thank you,
Practice Manager
